In Orleans, $6 million in permitting has been issued to replace the HVAC units at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Thirteen chilled water air handling units are being replaced with nine units. Additional electrical and duct work will be installed as well. Andrew Barber is the contractor listed to handle the work.
Harriet Tubman Charter School will see nearly $5 million in new construction of a new detached, 1-story building to house a constellation program on the campus.
It will house students with low incidence disabilities for grades Pre-K 4 through 4th grade.
The building will include 10 new classrooms with supporting infrastructure of restrooms, sensory rooms, therapy rooms, and administration area.
The building will have modular building components built off-site and then cladding of brick and fiber cement panels, final roofing, and foundation built on site.
A new parking lot, bus facility parking lot, an artificial turf soccer field, and associated landscaping and fencing will all be included in the project.
Landis Construction Co. LLC is handling the work.
621 Saint Louis St., which houses Omni Royal Orleans parking garage, will see over $2.6 million in renovations.
Structural Preservation Systems LLC is handling the work.
2533 Columbus St., which was originally a parochial school, was renovated in 2018 to coworking office space.
Historical Tax Credits were issued.
Renovations will be to reconfigure the existing program spaces to house administrative offices, classroom and training spaces, fine arts studio classrooms, a performance arts rehearsal and performance spaces, and associated storage, bathroom, prep area, and support spaces.
An elevator will also be installed to provide an accessible route to the second floor.
The property will maintain its use as co working office space.
