ARKANSAS — A woman from New York City is getting married, and she wanted to find her own diamond to set in a ring.
Micherre Fox of Manhattan headed to a place known for its gems, “Crater of Diamonds State Park” in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.
That’s in the southeast portion of the state.
She spent three weeks searching, and on the last day of her trip she found a 2.3-carat white diamond.
Park officials say Fox was walking along the West Drain area when she noticed something sparkling by her feet.
When she picked it up, she realized it was a glittering stone.
Fox’s discovery was pretty big, it was the third largest diamond found at the park this year.
People have found more than 350 diamonds there this year.
