HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) — A man serving time at Hutchinson Correctional Facility (HCF) has died after being found unresponsive in his cell earlier this month.
Adan Morales Jr., 54, was discovered on July 1, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. Staff began life-saving efforts, and he was taken to a local hospital. He died on July 18.
The cause of death is unclear, but HCF said an independent autopsy is currently being conducted.
Morales was serving a 276-month sentence after being convicted of raping a child under the age of 14 and breach of privacy in Finney County, Kansas.
