Norwich City have now reportedly opened talks to sign an attacking reinforcement instead of Bodo/Glimt’s Mohamed Toure before Monday’s deadline.
Clement calls for “belief” against Middlesbrough
After defeating Coventry City last time out in a shock result, Norwich City have set their sights on another scalp. This time, the Canaries are set to square off against Middlesbrough, who sit second in the Championship.
Philippe Clement once again called for “belief” from his side: “If somebody said three months ago we could do that against a very good team, where we are in the ranking, everybody would have laughed.
“For sure, not only the result, but also the performance. It was not a lucky win. It’s confirmation. So next game is against the second in the league to end an interesting week.
“There should be belief because if you can do it against Coventry, you can do it against everybody. You need to be really good and on your toes and aggressive, positive, doing the right things with the ball, finding the right spaces.
“A lot of work to do before this game against Middlesbrough. I’m really pleased, but it gives me also hunger and desire to get the best out of everybody and to squeeze every drop out of every player to make them grow. We are by far the youngest squad in the Championship so there’s also a lot of potential to become better.”
Some of the “work” that Clement mentioned could involve the transfer window ahead of Monday’s deadline. The Canaries have reportedly been targeting a move for Hogh, but are yet to strike a deal. This could see them turn to other options, including Randers striker Mohamed Toure.
Norwich “in talks” to sign Mohamed Toure
As reported by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Norwich are now “in talks” to sign Mohamed Toure instead of Hogh. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a promising season so far in Denmark, scoring four goals and creating a further five in 19 games in all competitions. Now, he could be on his way to English football.
Dubbed a player with “great mobility” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, 6’1 Toure could complete Clement’s recent attacking rebuild, especially if Josh Sargent does seal a move away.
Imagine him & Ahmed: Norwich leading race to clinch deal for “special” CF
Norwich City are reportedly leading the race to sign a star who could thrive alongside Ali Ahmed this season.
The American has been pushing for a move all January and has fallen out with Carrow Road chiefs in an attempt to get his wish. Whether he gets the move is still up for debate, but Norwich will have options if he does leave.
