ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney officials on Tuesday announced a new animated experience coming to its Hollywood Studios park in 2026.
“The Magic of Disney Animation” will debut in the building that currently houses “Star Wars: Launch Bay” and will invite guests to explore different studio departments brought to life by Disney characters.
Officials said the attraction draws inspiration from the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, and the short film, “Once Upon a Studio.”
In the Production Gallery, portraits will come to life just like in “Once Upon a Studio.” Meanwhile in the Screening Theater, guests can view a short film while learning how to draw fan-favorite characters and greet them in real life.
Families with younger children can enjoy “Drawn to Wonderland,” an indoor playground inspired by the concept art for “Alice in Wonderland.” The play area will feature an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party play set, and a Tulgey Wood exploration area.
Disney will also reimagine Animation Courtyard as “The Walt Disney Studios,” a newly designed outdoor space offering shaded seating, ideal for relaxing or snacking.
To prepare for the transformation, “Animation Courtyard,” “Star Wars: Launch Bay” and “Disney Jr. Play and Dance!” will close on Sept. 25. Officials said guests can continue to enjoy “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Walt Disney Presents” while the changes are ongoing.
Additional details will be shared in the coming months, officials said.
