SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 20-year-old woman is not expected to survive after a serious motorcycle crash in La Jolla early Friday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The collision occurred on the 2000 block of Torrey Pines Road, where the woman was riding a Honda CBR500R motorcycle eastbound just before losing control and crashing into the center median.
Police say the impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle, causing multiple life-threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Authorities confirmed that she remains in critical condition and is not expected to survive.
The SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the collision. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
