A massive police response was underway in Davie on Tuesday afternoon after a shooting near multiple schools left at least one person injured, officials said.
Multiple law enforcement officers responded to the 4100 block of South University Drive outside Aveda Institute, a cosmetology school, and Know-It-All Preparatory School next door.
Davie Police confirmed officers responded to a shooting in the area but said they weren’t looking for any subjects.

Davie Fire Rescue officials said they responded to the shooting scene and took a patient to a nearby hospital. The patient’s condition was unknown.
At one point, authorities closed off a portion of the Aveda parking lot with yellow crime scene tape.
Authorities were checking out a white vehicle that appeared to have possible bullet holes and what looked like a body in the passenger seat.

Nearby St. David Catholic School was also placed on lockdown.
