Man dies while hiking in the Sandia Mountains

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who was hiking with his family in the Sandia Mountains has died after falling off a ledge. Multiple agencies responded to the scene. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with KRQE News 13 that the hiker was found near the Sandia Crest House gift shop on Sandia Crest Road. The hiker was described as being in his 50s.
