NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is facing charges after a “suspicious” fire at a residence in Norwich.
Authorities said they responded around 9 p.m. on Saturday to a fire at a residence on Smith Avenue, but when police arrived, the fire had already been extinguished.
Police said they found a suspect a short distance from the scene and, after an interview, arrested him.
Eric Boudreau, 38, was charged with burglary in the third degree, arson in the second degree and criminal mischief in the first degree.
Boudreau was held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond. He was arraigned at Norwich Superior Court on August 20.
The incident remains under investigation.
