New direct international flights are set to launch from Munich Airport this year, offering residents and visitors in Germany more options than ever for travel across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
Munich Airport (MUC) is Germany’s second-busiest air travel hub, offering direct flights to approximately 184 international destinations across 68 countries.
Whether you’re seeking sunshine in the Mediterranean, adventure in Scandinavia or business connections in the Gulf, Munich’s expanding route network has something for everyone.
The following new flights for 2026 are all confirmed at the time of writing.
Amman, Jordan
Royal Jordanian Airlines is resuming its direct service from Munich to Amman, the Jordanian capital, starting March 27th. Flights will run three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The route is expected to provide convenient access to Jordan as well as handy onward connections to over 60 destinations in the Middle East and Asia.
Four new European destinations with Discover Airlines
Discover Airlines is further expanding Munich’s summer schedule with direct flights to a number of new destinations, including:
- Larnaca, Cyprus from March 29th
- Evenes, Norway from May 13th
- Harstad-Narvik, Norway from May 13th
- Skiathos, Greece from May 14th.
Edremit, Turkey
From May 15th, SunExpress is set to offer new direct flights from Munich to Edremit, a city located about 200 kilometres north of Izmir.
The flights will operate twice a week, providing a convenient gateway to Turkey’s Aegean coast. The same route will also be available from Hanover.

Ajaccio (Corsica), France
Travellers seeking Mediterranean charm will welcome Air Corsica’s new direct flights from Munich to Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica.
Operating during the summer months (from June 11th until September 27th), these flights will run twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
This marks the first regular flight connection from Ajaccio to Germany, making Corsica’s beaches and mountain villages more accessible than ever to those coming from Germany.

Calvi, (Corsica), France
Air Corsica is also launching a new route from Munich to Calvi, another picturesque Corsican destination, starting June 28th.
It’s not yet clear how often flights will run on the new routes, so travellers are advised to check the schedule closer to the launch date.

Two international connections with Lufthansa extended
Lufthansa has confirmed it will continue its long-haul services from Munich to Sao Paulo, Brazil and Johannesburg, South Africa, extending routes that were first introduced in winter 2025/26 into the summer of 2026.
Both destinations will be served three times a week, using the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
From September 1st, Etihad Airways will significantly expand its service between Munich and Abu Dhabi.
The airline will increase its offering from two to three daily nonstop flights, responding to growing demand for travel to the Arabian Gulf.
The new afternoon flight will use the modern Airbus A321LR, while the two existing daily connections will continue to use Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
This move is intended to further strengthen Etihad’s presence at Bavaria’s international air traffic hub. Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub provides a wide network of connecting flights to the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific region.
Southend, United Kingdom
EasyJet will launch a new direct route from Munich to Southend, UK, starting September 17th. How often these flights will run are yet to be confirmed.
