MORNING HEADLINES | Tropical Storm Chantel made landfall Sunday in Litchfield Beach in northeast South Carolina, but moved north quickly to dump up to 10 inches of rain on coastal and central North Carolina causing what some said was the worst flooding there in years.
The storm, downgraded to a tropical depression, is impacting weather in the Middle Atlantic today after mostly skirting the Charleston area over the holiday weekend.
Meanwhile, forecasters say the Palmetto State is likely to have another severe storm risk Tuesday in the middle part of the state as the annual dance with afternoon storms continues as blistering heat influences stormier conditions.
