LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)- Lexington Sporting Club picked up a much-needed win Saturday night, shutting out Phoenix Rising 2-0 at home. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak and marked the club’s first win since defeating Phoenix on the road last month.
The first goal was scored unassisted in the 30th minute by attacker Forster Ajago, who finished the match with a 7.5 rating. In the 79th minute, Michael Adedokun found the back of the net on a goal that was set up by teenage midfielder Christopher Olney Jr.
The match was LSC’s 19th of the USL season and marked their fifth win of the campaign, bringing their record to 5-7-7.
Their next match will be Friday August 16th at San Antonio FC.
