A U.S. Border Patrol officer shot and killed a 37-year-old Minneapolis man on Saturday, Jan. 24. The Alex Pretti killing happened less than a mile from where Renee Good was shot and killed two and a half weeks earlier by federal officers, and MinnPost photographer Ellen Schmidt has continued to cover the protests, clashes and vigils that are swelling in the city as Operation Metro Surge continues in Minnesota.
