NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – You’ve had a triple shot at seeing August’s STURGEON FULL MOON and Sunday is the last night to check it out ahead of Monday’s stormy morning.
Here’s a spectacular snap that our News Director, Rick Erbach, captured on Saturday night as it was rising above the Crescent City Connection. WOWIE!!!
Temperatures for Sunday night will go down into the upper 70s ahead of Monday’s high in the low 90s…
Heads up for later in the week, the heat will surely be making a comeback with the chance to see a few Heat Advisories next weekend as Heat Index values will be very much in the triple digits!
But getting back to the showers and storms for Monday, here’s a look at FUTURECAST:
Our friends along Terrebonne parish may wake up to some rain drops on the roof top and a few rumbles of thunder as early as 3:30 a.m. and you’ll continue to hear it through about 7 a.m.
Come about 8 a.m., the showers and storm will shift eastward to Lafourche, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes then mellow out a bit by 11 a.m.
Parts of the North Shore along with the I-10/1-12 corridor will have a chance at dealing with some rain more so when we get to the afternoon, but rain chances as a whole will quiet down for all of our area by the time we get to about dinnertime.
