A large police presence was outside a neighborhood in south suburban Robbins Friday morning, with multiple officers and the Cook County Sheriff investigating after a man was found dead in the street.
About 4 a.m., Robbins Police received a call of shots fired in the 3700 block of Maxey Court, with a man pronounced dead on arrival.
At 8 a.m., photos and video taken by an NBC Chicago photographer at the scene showed red police tape surrounding a part of a neighborhood block, with a tent and tarps covering parts of the road. Police officers and Sheriffs deputies could be seen canvassing the area and talking to neighbors.
The investigation remains active, police said.
