ORLAND PARK, Ill. — Some guys getting together for lunch, wouldn’t normally be newsworthy, but a group that’s been doing it for nearly three quarters of a century? Now that’s a story.
If friendship was a long game, these guys would definitely be bringing home a trophy.
Every Wednesday at 11 a.m., age old friends bonded by baseball, football and time get together for lunch at Fox’s in Orland Park.
Half the group of 80-year-olds have known each other since kindergarten. And several of them played on the same baseball team at Karl Sandbrook High School back in the early 1960s.
Erin McElroy joined the group one recent lunch and has the story.
