Pack your tent, bring your pup, and get ready for four days of music, yoga, campfires, and community under the stars—because the Kind Hearted Campout is back.
Now in its fifth year, the all-vegan camping festival will take over the historic Harrison Serenity Ranch on Palomar Mountain from Oct. 2–5. Just 55 miles north of San Diego and 100 miles south of Los Angeles, the ranch offers 67 acres of oak groves, hiking trails, an outdoor amphitheater, and sweeping mountain views—a perfect backdrop for a long weekend of connection and fun.
The Campout is California’s first and only all-vegan camping festival, created to bring together animal lovers, activists, and curious campers for a low-cost, vendor-free experience focused on community and rejuvenation, a news release said. Think lively workshops, games, art, yoga, dance parties, campfire jams, and plenty of time to simply unwind.
This year’s lineup includes the keynote “Knowing Your Rights” with attorney Jerry Friedman, plus workshops from Brittany Drake of The Protego Foundation and Brittany Michelson, founder of a sanctuary, author, and campaign specialist with In Defence of Animals. Yoga sessions will be led by Gayatri Sehgal, while Bianca Adriana of JustUs Entertainment returns as emcee.
And yes—campers will be well-fed. Thanks to sponsors including Foods Alive, Bitchin’ Sauce, Grandy Organics, and LMNT Electrolytes, all meals are completely free, with plenty of vegan favorites to go around. Each camper also gets a free event t-shirt designed by a local artist. Families (and friendly dogs) are welcome.
“The Kind Hearted Campout is an incredible opportunity for learning, creativity, and bonding with like-minded friends,” said Kind Heart Coalition Co-Founder Rachel Hosler. “We can make waves of positive change when we come together, so we are inviting animal lovers near and far to join us on the mountain for four days of magical kind-hearted connection.”
The Campout is hosted by Kind Heart Coalition, a San Diego-based nonprofit dedicated to uniting compassionate minds and kind hearts through education on animal rights and anti-speciesist messaging.
