Charleston County School District (CCSD) today announced the launch of FirstView, a redesigned, real-time GPS vehicle tracking and student transportation monitoring app, available for families.
The FirstView app offers a platform for parents and caregivers to monitor their child’s bus location, receive updates, and stay connected throughout the school day. This new version, FirstView 1.0, has been rebuilt with enhanced features based on user feedback and district priorities.
“FirstView 1.0 reflects the feedback we’ve received from families over the years,” said James Lynch, Executive Director of Student Transportation for CCSD. “This new version provides minute-by-minute tracking, reliable notifications, and greater peace of mind for parents and students alike.”
Key Features of the FirstView App Include:
- Live GPS Tracking – See the real-time location of your child’s bus
- Distance-Based Notifications – Get automatic alerts as the vehicle approaches the stop
- Trip Details & Updates – Access important bus information and status changes
- Multiple Recipients – Add family members and caregivers to receive notifications
- Dedicated Support – A responsive help desk is available for app-related issues
Important Information for Families
- Bus routes will be available Monday, July 21
- Families must download the new FirstView app from the Apple App Store or Google Play (the previous version will no longer function)
- Registration begins July 21; you will need your student’s bus route number
- This year’s registration code is: N6G3F (case-sensitive and required)
