(NewsNation) – Singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson has postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency “to be fully present” for her children while she deals with a family matter.
Clarkson revealed Wednesday that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has been sick.
“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson shared on her social media accounts. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
Clarkson apologized to fans who bought tickets and thanked them for their “grace, kindness and understanding.”
She previously canceled the first two shows of the “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” at Caesars Palace in July because rehearsals for the show took a toll on her voice, she said on Instagram at the time.
Clarkson’s remaining shows were scheduled for Aug. 8-9 and 15-16, with the last batch of shows scheduled for Nov. 7-8 and 14-15, according to Caesars Entertainment.
In March, Clarkson also missed 10 consecutive tapings of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for “personal reasons,” she said.
A source told Nexstar’s NewsNation in April that Blackstock had been sick and that Clarkson took their children to see him.
Blackstock and Clarkson were married in 2013 and split up in 2020. After a contentious spousal and custody battle, their divorce was finalized in 2022.
They share a daughter, River Rose, 11, and a son, Remington Alexander, 9.
