NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – As a Severe Thunderstorm Warning expires for Washington parish, we continue to see storms and showers passing through the area on Sunday.

There’s a Marine Warning until 4 p.m. for a cluster of storms with the potential to form a waterspout over Lake Pontchartrain now heading towards the South Shore.
We will continue to see showers and storms over the next few hours…

But come 6 p.m., we will only have lingering showers with the heaviest storms staying to the west between Baton Rough and Lafayette.
Slight rain chances will stay with us throughout your Sunday evening, but it’s nothing that will put a damper on your remaining “4th of July” weekend plans.

As for temperatures, many spots made it into the mid-low 90s: Particularly Bogalusa at 95-degrees, New Orleans at 94-degrees and Houma at 91-degrees.
We will feel a slight cool off following the storms as temperatures take a dip down to the upper 70s.
