John Cena is one of the biggest names to grace a WWE ring. He may not be the greatest in-ring competitor, but Cena can hold his own and he is an entertainer. He’s not won all of those matches, but his record at WrestleMania is remarkable.

Cena has headlined WrestleMania on multiple occasions, and he’s been involved in some of the biggest matches to take place at the event. He’s picked Cena’s best matches to take place on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

9 John Cena Vs. Edge Vs. Big Show – WrestleMania 25 (3.25 Stars)

Edge defended the World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena and Big Show in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 25. This was a decent triple threat match, but it felt rushed. Moreover, they had the unenviable task of following The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels’ epic.

Show pushed Cena off the top rope, and the Rated-R Superstar connected with a Spear in midair. However, Cena showcased his tremendous strength by hoisting both Edge and Show on his shoulders. He executed the AA onto Show, and he connected with another one on Edge on top of Show. Cena covered Show to become World Heavyweight Champion for the second time in his career.

8 John Cena Vs. Rusev – WrestleMania 31 (3.5 Stars)

John Cena captured his first United States Championship at WrestleMania 20, and he was looking to do it once again at WrestleMania 31. He challenged Rusev for the United States Championship, and the Bulgarian Brute had a grand entrance before his title defense.

Cena and Rusev produced a competitive match, and the reigning US Champion had the upper hand. However, Cena had a stranglehold on proceedings, and an AA was enough for Cena to clinch his fourth United States Championship.

7 John Cena Vs. The Rock – WrestleMania 29 (3.5 Stars)

For the second year in succession, John Cena and The Rock headlined WrestleMania. This time the WWE Championship was at stake with Cena challenging Rock for the gold at WrestleMania 29. Unfortunately, they failed to replicate their efforts from a year prior.

The Great One tore his adductor, but he still managed to carry on through the pain barrier. The result was inevitable since Cena lost their previous meeting. He got his redemption and reclaimed the WWE Championship to boot.

6 John Cena Vs. Randy Orton Vs. Triple H – WrestleMania 24 (3.5 Stars)

John Cena won the 2008 Royal Rumble match, and despite coming up short in his WWE Championship match with Randy Orton at No Way Out 2008 albeit by disqualification he had another title shot at WrestleMania 24. It was a triple threat match with Triple H involved and it was a competitive match between these three legends.

Cena came close on several instances to regain the WWE Championship but Triple H or Randy Orton would break it up. Cena was on the receiving end of a Pedigree, but Orton punted Triple H in the head, and the Viper pinned Cena in a successful WWE Title defense.

5 John Cena Vs. Bray Wyatt – WrestleMania 30 (3.5 Stars)

WrestleMania 30 featured John Cena going head-to-head with Bray Wyatt in the Eater of Worlds’ first match at the Show of Shows. This was a huge night for Wyatt to be going head-to-head with the former multiple-time WWE World Champion.

This bout went on a long time with it clocking in a little over 20 minutes. Wyatt thought that his reliable Sister Abigail was enough to seal the deal but Cena found a way to kick out. Wyatt showcased his resiliency and he kicked out of the AA. Ultimately, Wyatt attempted another one, but it was to no avail with Cena connecting with an AA to a controversial triumph.

4 John Cena Vs. Batista – WrestleMania 26 (3.5 Stars)

John Cena and Batista collided over the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 26. The Animal entered as the reigning champion, and this match was off the charts. Despite it being for the WWE Championship it goes under the radar with The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels’ match going on last.

There was a big fight feel to the match, and both kicked out of each other’s respective finishers. Batista attempted another Batista Bomb in a bid to put Cena away. However, Cena countered it, and he secured his ninth World Championship reign after he applied the STF.

3 John Cena Vs. The Rock – WrestleMania 28 (3.5 Stars)

One of the biggest main events in the history of WrestleMania featured John Cena and The Rock going head-to-head at WrestleMania 28. The build-up started on the Raw after WrestleMania 27. The Great One had the hometown support with WrestleMania emanating from SunLife Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Cena connected with a couple of AAs, but it wasn’t enough to see the job through. Rock connected with a Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow but Cena kicked out. Furthermore, Cena attempted the Rock Bottom which proved to be his downfall as Rock countered it and defeated Cena with a Rock Bottom of his own. Cena was crestfallen after the show came to a close.

2 John Cena Vs. Triple H – WrestleMania 22 (3.75 Stars)

John Cena and Triple H headlined WrestleMania 22 with Cena’s WWE Championship on the line. This match is significant as it was one of the first instances where Cena was booed during his polarizing run. Nevertheless, this was a fantastic wrestling match, and credit has to be given to Triple H for making Cena look like a star.

This WWE Championship bout was evenly matched, and it was the first time that Cena had gone on last at WrestleMania. In the closing stages, The Game attempted the Pedigree, but Cena reversed it and he applied the STF leaving Triple H no choice but to tap out.

1 John Cena Vs. Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 23 (4 Stars)

A year on after facing Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania, John Cena found himself defending the WWE Championship against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 23. This match was historic as it was the first time that a pair of WWE World Tag Team Champions went head-to-head in the main event of WrestleMania.

Michaels shed some blood in this match, and it was a high-level match between the reigning Tag Team Champions which they’d top weeks later in London. Ultimately, Big Match John got the bragging rights after he locked in the STF with Michaels fighting as long as he could, but the pain proved to be too much, and he tapped out.
