SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was hospitalized with serious injuries early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in the Mission Valley East neighborhood, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred in the 7600 block Friars Road around 1:10 a.m. when a 48-year-old man was walking westbound. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and the driver fled the scene before officers arrived.
Authorities say there is currently no description of the vehicle or driver involved.
The victim suffered multiple severe injuries, including a skull fracture, facial fractures, and a broken right leg. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. His current condition has not been released.
