NORRISTOWN, PA—Montgomery County is sharing important information for members of the public who seek to support those affected by the fire that damaged ten row homes in Norristown on Wednesday, November 27.
Montgomery County Department of Public Safety is working closely with Norristown Borough and the Red Cross to manage the impacts of the fire. Approximately 39 people were displaced after the fire, with 18 checking into a temporary shelter set up at a local public school.
For those seeking to support those displaced by the fire, monetary donations are welcome. Donations can be made through the Ebenezer Foundation. The Foundation’s goal is to collect $1,000 for each of the 11 families by the end of the holiday season. More information is available here: https://ebnezerfoundation.godaddysites.com/.
Do not drop off physical donations to the shelter. The temporary shelter is unable to accept any further physical items at this time.
Montgomery County is committed to supporting all those who have been affected by this fire, including providing transportation and facilitating longer-term housing solutions.
Especially during the holiday season, the County encourages the community to come together to support our friends and neighbors. Additional ongoing County-wide drives to help local families in need include collections of coats and toys.
