KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Early Saturday morning KCPD were called to the area of 35th and Prospect to investigate a shooting.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found multiple victims who had been shot in a gas station parking lot. Officers provided first aid and requested EMS to meet them at the scene.
Four victims were found at the scene, one adult female suffered critical injuries, one adult male also had critical injuries. Two adult male victims had non-life-threatening injuries. All of the victims were taken to the hospital, unfortunately the female victim died from her injuries.
As the investigation was continued at 35th and Prospect, officers were notified of another shooting nearby on East Linwood where an adult victim was found, he was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Police determined he was related to the first shooting on Prospect.
As detectives are working the scene, trying to find out what led to the shooting of five victims, they are asking for anyone with information about the incident to call Homicide detectives at 816-234-5043 or the TIP Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
No suspects are in custody currently.
