Bermudian cyclist Kaden Hopkins has climbed in the overall standings at the 74th Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe after completing the eighth stage.
Hopkins placed 17th in the 142-kilometer stage from Vieux-Habitants to Baillif, finishing with a time of 4:11:40.
The stage victory went to overall race leader Camilo Andrés [Colombia], who recorded a time of 4:03:33. Hopkins crossed the line 8 minutes and 7 seconds behind the winner.
With the result, Hopkins advanced seven spots in the general classification to 22nd overall. His total time stands at 29:26:18, which is 37 minutes and 30 seconds behind the leader, Andrés, as the tour enters its final stages.
