DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that the crash near Eisenhower Tunnel has resulted in the deaths of a person and a dog, while closures for westbound traffic are still in effect.
Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office stated at 2:51 p.m., that “I-70 East has reopened at the Eisenhower Tunnel.”
The closures on westbound are still in effect, which follows:
- All lanes are closed on westbound I-70 at milepost 217 due to a crash.
- Westbound I-70 has a detour in place at milepost 215
At this time, it’s unclear what the cause of the fire is and if there are any injuries.
COtrip said drivers should expect delays. If you’re looking to get around the traffic, there are ways around I-70, but it won’t be as quick.
