NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Fall is coming soon, and with it the Halloween festivities. Looking for some local haunts to celebrate the season? WGNO has compiled a list of local haunted houses opening in the coming months.
The Mortuary
Built in a former funeral parlor and crematorium, The Mortuary has become a New Orleans Halloween staple. It will open Sept. 13 with its final event on Nov. 8. It is located on 4800 Canal Street in New Orleans.
New Orleans Nightmare
New Orleans Nightmare is sure to get your hair on end with two new attractions. It will run Sept. 20 through Nov. 8. It is located on 319 Butterworth Street in New Orleans
RISE Haunted House
For a frightening time in Tangipahoa Parish, RISE Haunted House will open its doors Sept. 27 and will run till Nov. 2. It’s located on Highway 442 in Tickfaw.
Boo at the Zoo
Looking for something more kid-friendly? Audobon Zoo will be putting on a more wholesome haunted house Oct. 17 through Oct. 19. There will be trick-or-treating and fun photo opportunities. The event will benefit Manning Family Children’s LCMC Health.
