KENNER, La. (WGNO) — A teenager and two adults are in police custody following a police chase in Kenner.
Officers with the Kenner Police Department reported that on June 23, its FLOCK camera system alerted officers of a vehicle allegedly stolen out of New Orleans in the area.
KPD officers said they attempted to stop the driver, a 16-year-old male, but instead were led on a police chase into New Orleans.
With assistance from the Louisiana State Police and New Orleans Police Department, the chase ended at the corner of N. Tonti and A.P. Tureaud streets.
The teen along with 18-year-old Marquelle Smith and 29-year-old Kevinisha Russell, were arrested. They all had outstanding warrants, according to KPD.
Additionally, KPD officers reported there was an unrestrained 1-year-old in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit but was not harmed.
The 16-year-old was booked on charges of:
- Aggravated flight from an officer
- Possession of stolen things
- No driver’s license
- Warrant out of New Orleans
Smith was booked on charges of:
- Possession of marijuana
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Fugitive out of Orleans Parish
Russell was booked on charges of:
- Child desertion
- Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles
- Three attachments out of Jefferson Parish
- Two attachments out of Gretna PD
- Warrant out of New Orleans
