NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Got a secret you want to keep a secret but secretly want to share?
WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood has the place.
It’s just 10 minutes from the French Quarter and it’s called Hidden South at 7124 St. Claude Ave. in Arabi.
The man behind the counter and behind the business is Brent Walker.
He’s a pro at finding hidden treasures, and he’s got a shop full at Hidden South.
He’s also a photographer who has spent time traveling the South taking pictures of heartbreak and addiction.
Walker himself is in recovery and now on the sobriety road, he sends out the invitation for you to share your secrets.
“I would get up every morning and drink. I was at an extreme spiritual deficit and felt very hopeless and I just knew that if I didn’t quit, I was going to die,” said Walker.
He’s got the room for it.
It’s The Secret Room in what used to be a bathroom upstairs.
Walker provides the paper and pencils. People who come in provide the secrets.
Some secrets are funny, some come from the heart.
Some go even deeper.
