Israel’s army chief of staff Eyal Zamir said that “the evacuation process of residents from Gaza City will take less than two months,” according to Channel 12.
Zamir said Israel is “preparing for the complexities in relocating residents” and “preparing a set of tools to encourage them to leave the city” in what he called as humanitarian areas.
The army chief said Israeli military will enter and occupy Gaza City once the forced evacuation process is complete.
Channel 12 previously reported that the Israeli government is currently discussing with several countries, including Indonesia, Somaliland, Uganda, South Sudan, and Libya, the possibility of taking in displaced Palestinians from Gaza.
Hamas on Sunday condemned Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza City, saying that it amounts to a “new wave of genocide and displacement” affecting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
