After rumors that he would be making his way to AEW, Tommaso Ciampa did just that, appearing at Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
During Wednesday’s show, Ciampa appeared in grand fashion. After Mark Briscoe defeated El Clon to retain his AEW TNT Championship, Briscoe took to the mic. He challenged anyone to come face him on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision. The lights went out after, and a video of a beating heart growing cold appeared on the Jumbotron.
Then, Ciampa appeared. The star came down to the ring and quickly got into a staredown with Briscoe. While the two didn’t come to any brawls, their match was confirmed. This is Ciampa’s first wrestling appearance since his departure from WWE earlier this month.
For Ciampa, this is also the first time he’s appeared in a non-WWE setting in over a decade. The star had been with WWE since 2015, and will now look to claim a title in another promotion.
