MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An 18-year-old has died after the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says five people were shot outside a house in Cordova Saturday night.
SCSO detectives identified the victim as 18-year-old Corey Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to social media statements from the University of Mississippi and his former high school, Adams was a freshman on the college’s football team.
SCSO responded to a scene on Fern Glade Cove in Cordova at 10:14 p.m.
Deputies say five people were injured in the shooting. When deputies arrived at the intersection of Forest Hill-Irene and Walnut Grove, they stopped a car, finding 18-year-old Corey Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Four other men arrived by personal vehicles to area hospitals in non-critical condition.
