PARKE COUNTY, Ind. — A Florida woman was arrested for fraud in Parke County on Friday.
According to the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, a victim from Rockville was receiving scam calls from an unknown caller. The caller, later identified as 25-year-old Michelande Eliassaint of Orlando, FL., was attempting to get the victim to withdraw a large sum of cash.
At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, officers initiated an investigation when Eliassaint allegedly wanted to make arrangements to pick up the money at the victim’s residence.
Police watched the residence and when Eliassaint showed up, she was taken into custody.
She was arrested on preliminary charges of Fraud and Theft, both Level 4 felonies.
Her bond was set for $15,000 cash only.
The case remains under investigation.
