NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s another stormy afternoon, and both Jefferson and Orleans parishes are currently under a Flood Advisory until 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
This area has already seen between 0.5-1 inches of rain with more on the way as thunderstorms continue to come through.
Minor flooding is expected particularly in low-lying and poorly drained areas so please be sure to drive with extra caution and “turn around don’t drown.”
For the rest of us, we’ll continue to see additional showers and storms pass through particularly this afternoon into the early evening.
Here’s a glimpse of FUTURECAST to see what we’re in for:
The heavier storms will at first be along the South Shore and coastally, but come about 6 p.m. things will mellow out and the heavier storms will be in our northern most parishes.
Tangipahoa and Terrebonne parishes will see the last of Wednesday’s showers and storms around 8 p.m.
***Be sure to tune-in for “WGNO NEWS” at 5/6/10 p.m. with Chief Meteorologist Hank Allen for all the latest on the showers and storms throughout this evening!
