POLK COUNTY, Mo. – A Flemington, Mo. woman was killed and two others were left injured Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Polk County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened around 4:35 p.m. on Highway 83, approximately 1.5 miles north of Rondo, involving a Chevrolet Equinox and a Dodge Ram 1500.
The crash occurred after the driver of the Dodge Ram failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to the vehicle striking the Chevrolet Equinox, MSHP said. A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 59-year-old woman from Flemington, was left dead on the scene.
According to MSHP, the two drivers involved in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital after the incident, both suffering from serious injuries.
The driver and passenger in the Chevrolet Equinox were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, MSHP said, while the driver in the Dodge Ram was not.
