COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Five members of the University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team will compete in the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship, Aug. 21-29 in Jiangmen, China.
Three Rainbow Warriors were selected to the 12-member United States team – middle blocker Trevell Jordan, setter Tread Rosenthal, and opposite Kainoa Wade. Jordan and Wade recently competed for the U.S. and the Pan American Cup, where they captured the gold medal. Rosenthal has been a member of the U21 squad for two years and helped the Americans capture gold at the 2024 NORCECA Continental Championship.
Also competing at Worlds are Adrien Roure (France) and Quintin Greenidge (Canada). Greenidge helped the Canadians take silver at the Pan American Cup earlier this month, where they fell to the U.S. in the gold medal match and was named the tournament’s Best Libero and Best Receiver. Roure helped France capture gold at the U21 European Championships last year.
The U.S. are in Pool A along with China, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, and Turkey. Canada is in Pool B with Iran, Kazakhstan, Poland, Puerto Rico, and South Korea while France is in Pool D with Argentina, Indonesia, Italy, Tunisia, and Ukraine.
Jordan and Greenidge will be entering their first season at UH. Jordan competed for Grand Canyon last season while Greenidge spent two seasons at the University of Windsor in Canada. Rosenthal has started all 61 matches in his two seasons with Hawai’i and last season was named first-team All-American. Roure also earned All-America status last season in his rookie season with the Warriors and was named the Big West Championship Most Outstanding Player. Wade appeared in 30 matches as a true freshman last season.
