Many X users are not happy with how the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas decided to say goodbye to its iconic volcano show. The famous casino, the first such mega-resort to open in the gambling hub, closed on July 17 ahead of its redevelopment into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

In the comments, many have taken umbrage with the time of day that the Mirage decided to complete the final show. As can be seen from the video, the show took place in broad daylight, and Vegas fans believe this diminished the drama of the iconic fire, light, and water performance.

One user called @ZelUnited said simply: “It’s too early in the day.” Another named @krusemeister_ts said: “People will see this and say Vegas is overrated.” Perhaps encapsulating the general mood of the responses, @Jesse_Behr deemed it “criminal” to put on the final show during the day.
Hard Rock International bought the Mirage for $1.08bn in 2022. Its new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is slated to open by 2027. Las Vegas resident Alden Gillespy started a petition in 2022 to save the Mirage volcano, but it proved unsuccessful.
