(KRON) — All lanes of southbound Highway 101 in San Jose are blocked Thursday afternoon as California Highway Patrol officers investigate a fatal pedestrian collision.
CHP responded at 11:49 a.m. to southbound 101 just south of the McKee Road offramp. A vehicle on the highway collided with a pedestrian, causing fatal injuries, according to authorities.
Southbound traffic is being diverted to Alum Rock Avenue. Live Caltrans cameras show that traffic is gridlocked in the southbound direction.
There is no estimated time to reopen the roadway.
