NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Following Thursday evening’s Severe Thunderstorm Warning and a few areas with a Flood Advisory, Friday is looking to be pretty tame.
For starters, temperatures are expected to get into the upper 80s with a few spots getting to the 90-degree mark.
Humidity will still be in the mix, but lower levels in comparison to what we saw this time last week so enjoy it because it’ll be on the up and up come the end of this weekend into the new week.
But what about rain chances? I’m glad you asked…
Friday and Saturday will be a royal treat with the rain chances being fairly quiet.
Yes, we will still have the chance for showers and storms, but it’ll be few and scattered.
Here’s a look at FUTURECAST to give you a better idea as to the timing and location:
Starting out in the early morning around 7 a.m., we’ll see some showers and storms in the Sound and surrounding Lake Borgne areas then turning very scattered by lunchtime throughout the area.
Late afternoon into the evening, Terrebonne parish will have the chance to see some heavy storms so be sure to drive with extra caution in these parts for your evening commute.
Overall, the showers and storms will be to the west of us or offshore by 6 p.m. so if you have any evening plans they’re a “good to go:” — plus, don’t forget to catch of glimpse of night #1 of 3 to see the STURGEON MOON! 🙂
