DENVER (KDVR) — Those with an Epic Pass and other pass holders at Vail Resorts for the upcoming snow sport season now have a new benefit to bring their friends to the slopes.
On Tuesday, Vail Resorts announced a new way for season-long pass holders to ski and ride with those they want to most through the new “Epic Friend Tickets.”
The company said that the “Epic Friend Tickets” benefit provides 50% off lift tickets for friends and family of most of their season-long pass holders, including Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic Military Pass and Northeast Value Pass.
“Skiers and snowboarders know this sport is magic; a passion you can’t help but pass on,” said Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz. “If you ski or ride, chances are someone brought you into the sport, and we want to make it easier for you to pay it forward. Epic Friend Tickets are the next step on our nearly two-decade-long journey to find ways to make skiing more accessible to more people.”
Eligible pass holders who purchased their season-long pass before April 14 will receive ten “Epic Friend Tickets,” and those who purchased after April 14 will receive six. The company said that the tickets can be used at all of its North American resorts.
“We will always give the best deal to our Pass Holders who commit to skiing with us ahead of the season,” said Katz. “That said, we know not everyone can plan ahead, so if you don’t have an Epic Pass, the next best thing is knowing someone who does.”
How “Epic Friend Tickets” work
Pass holders can redeem their eligible “Epic Friend Tickets” at EpicPass.com. After that, the tickets can be activated through the My Epic app for direct-to-lift access, the company said.
The pass holder is required to scan their pass at one of the North American resorts’ lift lines before using an “Epic Friend Ticket.”
The company also said that friends and family can later save by applying 100% of the cost of one redeemed Epic Friend Ticket that will then be used as a credit towards an Epic Pass for the 2026-2027 season.
Passes for the upcoming ski and snowboarding season are on sale now, with the lowest fall prices available until Sept. 1.
