BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Lackawanna man is accused of killing his passenger and injuring another person in a wrong-way crash on the Skyway in June, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
Joshua Wright, 27, allegedly drove the wrong way on the inbound Skyway around 11:35 p.m. on June 5 while drunk, causing a head-on collision with another car.
Grant’s passenger, 28-year-old Shabrina Grant, died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old woman, was treated at ECMC for several injuries and needed surgery on her foot.
On Tuesday, Wright was formally charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault.
If convicted of the highest charge, Wright faces up to 25 years in prison. Bail was set at $250,000. A return date has not been scheduled.
