Hot on the heels of ultramax charter deal with Cargill, Greece’s Diana Shipping has fixed one of its kamsarmaxes to Singapore-based Propel Shipping, accepting a reduced dayrate compared to the vessel’s previous employment.
The New York-listed dry bulk outfit with 36 ships in its fleet has secured employment for the 2013-built Astarte at $12,500 per day, minus a 5% third-party commission.
The 81,513 dwt bulker will start its contract on August 2, 2025, that will run until at least August 16, 2026, with an optional extension to October 16 of the same year.
The deal, struck at a softer rate compared to the vessel’s 2024 fixture, should bring in about $4.68m to Diana over the firm period.
Last year, the Astarte was fixed to Singapore’s Paralos Shipping, earning a daily rate of $14,000.
