DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather was a few degrees warmer than Saturday, with highs in the metro around the mid-90s, but there’s a respite in sight for the region.
Despite the cooler temperatures halfway through this week, there could be a chance for Denver to hit its first 100-degree day by next weekend.
Weather tonight: Isolated storms possible out east
Isolated storms are possible through sunset, mainly east of Interstate 25.
Otherwise, partly cloudy to mostly clear for a warm evening after a hot Sunday.
Weather tomorrow: Hot start to week, possible storms
It’s going to be another hot one on Monday with highs climbing into the low 90s. Similar to Sunday, a few storms may pop around 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday with a potential for isolated storms over the eastern plains into the early evening hours.
Gusty winds will be the main threat from storms.
Looking ahead: Midweek break, before possible records
The region gets a break from the 90s as a system rolls across the state on Tuesday. That’s the best chance for scattered storms this week. High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low- to mid-80s.
Record-setting high temperatures are possible Thursday through Saturday. All three days will have highs in the upper 90s, potentially hitting Denver’s first 100-degree day this year.
With the heat, there is the potential for fire weather conditions.
