Seth Rollins picks his top five WWE Royal Rumble winners of all time.
Former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins appeared on ESPN First Take to promote the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble. He took things over from host Stephen A. Smith and revealed his A-List of the top five Royal Rumble winners of all time.
For the fifth spot, Seth Rollins picked Rey Mysterio’s win from 2006. “Rey Mysterio, ladies and gentlemen, the greatest luchador of all time, and proof that it doesn’t matter how big you are, how tall you are, how strong you are, anything is possible.”
In number four, he chose John Cena’s iconic return and victory from 2008. “Nobody thought John Cena was gonna be in the building. Surprise! John Cena showed up, he won, and he’s in the main event of WrestleMania. That’s the great thing about the Royal Rumble. Anything can happen,” Seth Rollins said.
Seth Rollins then went back a bit longer and chose Ric Flair‘s 1992 Royal Rumble victory for the third spot. “The reason I love this one is because the WWF Championship was on the line in the match. The winner will become the champion. Ric outlasted everybody and became champion.”
In number two, he had Shawn Michaels from 1995. “My favorite finish to any Royal Rumble ever. He gets dumped over the top rope, but the rules state both feet have to touch the ground. They didn’t. Only one foot touched the ground. Shawn comes back in, dumps Bulldog over the top rope, and he’s going to the main event of WrestleMania for the first time,” Seth Rollins continued.
Seth Rollins had an interesting top pick
Seth Rollins’ top pick is something he believes changed the game for WWE. He chose his wife Becky Lynch‘s Royal Rumble 2019 victory. “She wins the women’s Royal Rumble and goes on to become the first woman ever to main event WrestleMania.”
Rollins is still recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained at Crown Jewel: Perth last year, and confirmed during another ESPN First Take appearance that he will not compete at the Royal Rumble this Saturday.
