The University of Colorado Boulder Police Department lifted a shelter-place-order at 5:40 p.m. for all locations on main campus except Norlin Library, and said it is investigating a potential swatting incident at the library.
Earlier, the department said it was investigating a report of shots fired outside the library, but that no victims or suspects could be found.
CU earlier evacuated the library and Sewall Hall after a shelter-in-place order for Main Campus was issued at 4:54 p.m.
Police remain in the area and will continue while CUPD investigates.
The incident at CU comes on the heels of false reports of active shooters at other universities across the country, including lockdowns at Villanova University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, reported by the Associated Press this month.
This is a developing story.
