BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green has received Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
According to a release on Tuesday by the city, this is the 13th consecutive year the city has received the award.
The release states the award reflects “the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”
To qualify, the following guidelines had to be met for effective budget presentation:
- a policy document
- a financial plan
- an operations guide
- a communication device
The city says budget documents need to be considered proficient in all four categories, as well as the 14 mandatory criteria that are within the categories.
