Catholic Health has opened a new ambulatory and urgent care facility in Melville. The 13,000-square-foot center, located at 610 Broadhollow Road, represents a nearly $7 million investment and is part of the health system’s growing network of multispecialty care centers in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
The Catholic Health Ambulatory & Urgent Care at Melville provides primary and specialty care, including cardiovascular services of the health system’s St. Francis Heart Center. The facility also offers walk-in urgent care for patients requiring immediate attention.
“As our patients’ needs and preferences continue to evolve, we are committed to meeting them where they are,” Dr. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, president and CEO of Catholic Health, said in a news release about the ambulatory and urgent care facility in Melville.
The center is designed to meet the increasing demand for accessible, high-quality outpatient services in the region. The integration of primary, specialty, and urgent care in a single location expands access to a broad range of services while also helping to reduce patient overflow and wait times in emergency departments.
“Our goal is to deliver the care our communities need – when, where and how they need it – with the compassion and expertise that define Catholic Health,” O’Shaughnessy said.
Primary care services at the Catholic Health Ambulatory & Urgent Care at Melville include annual physicals, routine screenings, chronic disease management, immunizations and lab testing, according to the organization’s website. Specialty care services include cardiology and interventional cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, spine care and sports medicine.
Urgent care services include treatment of illnesses and injuries, pediatric care for patients ages four months and older, blood draws, rapid testing (including flu, COVID-19, strep, mono, glucose and urine), high-definition X-rays, IV hydration, vaccines and immunizations, travel medicine, occupational health services and workers’ compensation care, according to the organization’s website.
“With our new Ambulatory & Urgent Care at Melville, we’re making it easier for patients to access comprehensive services all under one roof, furthering our mission to expand access to high-quality care across Long Island,” O’Shaughnessy said.
