INDIANAPOLIS – Jim Irsay will join the Colts Ring of Honor.
The Indianapolis Colts announced Irsay, who died last month at the age of 65, will be inducted during the Sept. 7 home opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Irsay was laid to rest earlier this month after a private ceremony. He’ll become the Ring of Honor’s 20th member.

“There was no bigger advocate for the Colts, the NFL, the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana than our dad, Jim Irsay,” said his daughter, Colts owner & CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon. “It’s only fitting that he now joins the other amazing Colts legends in our Ring of Honor who contributed so much to our franchise and our community over the past four decades.”
The team is developing additional opportunities for fans to honor Irsay’s legacy in the weeks leading up to the home opener and said more information would be forthcoming.
The Colts will wear a patch honoring Irsay during the upcoming season.
