The City of Brookhaven will unveil its highly anticipated City Centre on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Attendees can expect a full day of community celebrations, culminating in a concert by Jupiter Coyote. Located at 4001 Peachtree Road, the City Centre is Georgia’s first municipal facility constructed primarily from mass timber, and reflects the city’s commitment to sustainability, accessibility, and civic engagement.
Anchoring the City’s evolving downtown district, the facility is the largest capital investment in Brookhaven’s history, representing a new era of public engagement, civic access, and sustainable design.
“This is more than a building, it’s a community living room,” said Mayor John Park. “Brookhaven City Centre will be a place where neighbors connect, families gather, and residents can engage directly with their government in a setting that reflects the values and vision of our city.”
Approximately 60% of the 58,250-square-foot building is dedicated to public use, including community gathering spaces, a multi-purpose event hall with supporting catering kitchen, coffee shop, rentable meeting rooms, and an Explore Brookhaven visitor store. The remaining 40% houses administrative offices for city operations such as the Mayor and Council offices, City Manager, Finance, Human Resources, and more.
The public celebration will include:
- Free kid’s games and activities
- Walking tours of the facility highlighting its ecologically sustainable design elements
- Interactive stations showcasing programs from city departments
- Live music and performances throughout the day
- Food vendors and family activities
- Concert by Jupiter Coyote

Brookhaven City Centre was funded with Urban Redevelopment Bonds that are repaid from the Special Services District, comprised of non-residential properties in Brookhaven. Brookhaven homesteaded residential property owners were not taxed at all for Brookhaven City Centre construction.
Built by McCarthy + Barnsley and designed by the Sizemore Group, Brookhaven City Centre is more than just the city’s first purpose-built government facility—it is a symbol of Brookhaven’s next chapter as a connected, inclusive, and forward-thinking community.

The City of Brookhaven leased the property from MARTA in 2022. The location was chosen due to its proximity to mass transit and major mobility corridors to encourage access for all.
The City’s first-ever Community Engagement Plan was used for the public engagement during the City Centre Master Plan process. The process included design charettes with stakeholders, public meetings with initial building massing, a visual preference survey, two virtual town hall events, and presence at several City events.
