Organised by Digital Penang and supported by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Cradle Fund, the Penang Digital Economy Summit 2025 (PDES), on 9 Aug, with its Collaborate on Opportunities, Shape the Future theme, will gather corporations, technology startups, SMEs alongside government stakeholders.
Chow Kon Yeow, Penang Chief Minister said, “This strategic convergence of state agencies such as Digital Penang, federal agencies, and private enterprises empowers Penangites by attracting greater investment, driving innovation, nurturing a robust talent and tech-founder pipeline, and enhancing access to homegrown innovations, technology, and infrastructure.”
The summit, with registration closed, will host six breakout sessions with experts in their respective industry. The sessions will provide key insights, best practices and trends that will be shaping the landscape of digital economy for businesses, startups, community, developing regional investment ecosystems, digitalisation in the Silver Economy and new generation of workforce in Penang.
In conjunction with the summit there will be the unveiling of the Digital Economy Master Plan (DEMP) 2025-2030, highlighting a strategic roadmap actively backed by the state of Penang and federal stakeholders and key partners of innovation and technology ecosystem, solidifying their collective collaborative commitment to Penang’s long-term digital economy ambitions.

Lazada will lead hands-on workshop and showcase products under the Lazada platform, while a wider roster of solutions including 5G solution, AI, fintech, digital game, greentech, and others will also be featured in the exhibition space which is open to the public from 10am to 5pm.
